Well the Charlotte trip was pretty good. It was a very nice weekend up there. On Saturday it was 80 something degrees there which was really nice. We were out in t-shirts and stuff. The games went pretty well I guess. We won 3 out of 5 there. At least one of the losses if not both I blame on poor coaching and decision making. We had some more drama this weekend that dealt with someone new to the team, and the miraculously tried to turn it all around on us even though it was their own doing and we had nothing to do with it. It is really getting quite pathetic and I am on the verge of just saying forget it and not finish out the rest of the year. It has gotten really ridiculous and way too much gossiping and lying going on and favoritism. It's pretty sad especially considering who it is coming from. I wont say any names nor even mention our team's name so not to let other random readers get a bad name about our team and sponsor due to the fact of the things I mention about the new people in running the show.. or those who think they run the show.
To top off the weekend I came to find out I lost my Treo 600 somewhere in Charlotte. I also had several credit cards and my driver's license as well. I called the hotel and the restaurant we ate at last but neither place had found a missing phone. So I had to cancel all of my cards and now I have to gather up my social security card and birth cert in order to get a new ID. I'm now debating on getting another refurbished phone through my insurance or rather to go ahead and upgrade my phone with my $150 rebate. I'm just trying to figure out if any other new phones will be coming out and if I should hold out or not. The one's out right now I would probably go with the Treo 700wx. So yeah right now I am phoneless. My emergency phone on our plan my soon-to-be Mother-in-law has so I really need to decide what I need or want really soon.
Well we are back from Atlanta. The trip down there was alright. We didn't get lost so that is always a good thing. We were staying at the Marriot there and the new law either a GA law or an Atlanta law prohibits you from smoking indoors. With us being smokers this really blows. It is a $250 fine if you do smoke. What ever happened to our freedom? Is this still America? It seems more and more we are being stripped of all of our American freedoms by all of the two faced politicians.
Anyways... the tournament was ok I guess. We came in 2nd place which I guess isn't bad considering it was our first games of the year and we are a newly combined team with the people from Nashville. The only team we lost to was the Charlotte Bobcats. Which was in the first game.. and then again in the championship game. We should of beat them, but it just the rims just seemed to be smaller against them. None of our shots were falling when usually we nailing them. Our defense was great, we just couldn't buy a bucket. We beat Florida Force, Atlanta Hawks, and the Lakeshore teams. Next weekend we are going to Charlotte, NC for another basketball trip. There are going to be a lot of tough teams there this year.
I just found out that one of my old friends from Nashville, whom I've known since I was 13 or 14 is going to be joining our team this year and will be with us at the Charlotte tournament. I haven't seem him in a few years so this will be great.. and a great addition to our already fantastic team. He is a class 1 like me so I will have someone I can count on to cover for me and give me a breather. This weekend really took a hard toll on me. My body is aching from pushing hard for 5 games. My hands are so red and swollen that it hurts to even tough them. I cannot open up a 20oz bottle of mountain dew without having to hook my index finger around it and twist and the slightest bit of warm water on my hands burns the hell out of them.
Well I am off to bed. I have to get up and go to work in the AM. Going to work over some this week so I can leave early Friday and get a jump on traffic and get to Charlotte. Charlotte nor the hotel better be a smoke free environment!!!!
Well we are off to ATL for a basketball tournament this weekend. We will be playing 4 games in a mini tournament. This is our first trip this year so I hope we aren't too rusty. I know for sure I will be one sore person come Monday morning. I hope we do well though. It is going to be great having the other guys from Nashville playing with us so I think this year is going to be a great year indeed. I will update how the tournament goes once I get back in town. Wish us luck!
Well Heather and I went out last night to Paul's Oasis with a few of our friends. They were having a Halloween thing going on. We got there a little late as usual, but not that bad. We both dressed up in our new costumes we bought. Heather was a sexy Wonder Woman this year and I am Captain America. Yes... I know I am Marvel and she is DC. This is a cross-over episode and she's having an affair on Batman. =) Anyways, UT was playing South Carolina as well this weekend so we were watching us whoop some butt for a fantastic win over the Gamecocks. Well as the night went along and after the game the in house band performed and and a few started dancing. Around like 1am they announced they were having a costume contest. Well we both entered into it. As it turned out in the end. I won 1st place for the best costume and won $200 for it. Heather unfortunately didn't win anything, which wasn't right because we both were the best dressed there. Crowd favorites just got ahead of her. You can check out some of the pics in my gallery.
